Verdict:
My team was initially supposed to visit Unlocked a full month earlier. The plan was to play the temporary Halloween room ("Unfortune Found") on the same night as the temporary Christmas room (that second room should've just opened by then). Unfortune-ately (get it? 😁), the Halloween room suffered significant damage at some point, and the Christmas room was delayed a bit, so instead the folks at Unlocked suggested we'd just come a bit later for both the Christmas room, and their other new game we hadn't played yet. Fair enough.
I was curious as to where that room would be in the first place. I was pleasantly surprised to see that Unlocked is expanding to the first floor of the same building, having moved their lobby down there as well. "The Great Elf Escape" was essentially set where the board game lounge used to be, on the 2nd floor.
Set-wise, this being a temporary Christmas room, don't expect to be wowed out of your brains, as the above picture shows. Still, enough care seemed to have been put into the puzzles, which were varied and numerous. We were told that all teams required at least one hint, and being the proud stubborn mules we are 🙄, we tried pretty hard at not using any, with no success (although we ironically got stuck on a completely different puzzle than most). Well, at least we doubled the time record - there's some Christmas magic for you. 😎

Verdict:
